The Cloth Diaper Has Come a Long Way! |

When you think of cloth diapers, do you picture big, bulky, white towel-like cloths hanging onto baby by safety pins? That’s exactly what I pictured when considering going to cloth diapers; but with all the options available these days, cloth diapers are better than ever before - not to mention better for the environment.
Using cloth diapers in lieu of disposables can help you “go green,” which is better for the environment, better for you, and better for baby. Over 27.4 billion disposable diapers end up in landfills across the U.S. each year! And although Americans are advised that fecal matter should be dumped in the toilet before disposing of the diapers, most don’t do that. It is estimated that it takes 200-500 years for a disposable diaper to decompose. That means that your grandchildren’s grandchildren will still be living on an earth that is filled with your child’s disposable diaper waste! Not only is that disgusting and disturbing, it is horrible for our environment.
